Applying for moose for the first time.
« on: May 09, 2015, 07:12:16 AM »
Ok I have followed plenty of threads on moose hunting and know the NE corner is the spot but there are a few choices.  49 Degrees North Seems to be what I have seen most of moose are at.  Any suggestions?  I know I won't draw but you can't get one if you don't apply.

I think most are going to tell you to just apply and the rest will fall in place, all the units hold moose and guys are always willing to help once you have the tag.  I personally like the later hunts after the rut, but I've only hunted moose once and that was in Canada.  The 49 degrees tag is the mostly sought after tag for moose, that one will be a tough one to draw to say the least.  I think mika peak is the area that is gated or at least one area that you have to walk in, you will get better info from others that know much more than me.  Good luck in the draw, you can't go wrong with any of the permits in my opinion.

Russ
Realize that the Moose drawing is nothing more than a lottery plain and simple you have as much chance as the next person. Just because you may not have as many points as some folks. Who should be renamed En-titlist's since they feel they are entitled to a tag before you since you in their eyes have done your time.   :chuckle:
It would be great to see you draw and then post the unit. Oh to hear the whining!!!
