I've hunted er.... shot prairie dogs east of Zortman on the BLM land, a tad east of Harlowtown on private land and in the eastern corner of Montana.

If I wanted to hunt shoot for free I'd contact the local soil conservation districts and ask who's having problems with prairie dogs and then key in based on that info.

Well got to BigSandy Montana for the hunt. Went with a non guided hunt on the IX ranch. Did well on the four days we hunted except for one morning that the dogs didn't get out of bed for the wind but made up for it in the afternoon. Pups were up running around witch made for doubles, triples and maybe a quad. Sun and HOT not a lot of wind for the area, AH can you say a 6" to a bit more hold off at 300-350 yards with a 223. It was amazing how the mind takes over as a windage judge in these conditions.
