Question on Zen Ray Prime Bino's
« on: March 25, 2015, 12:16:34 PM »
I have an almost new pair of Zen Ray Primes.  The 1st day I used them the rubber eye cups fell off.  What is a good adhesive to put them back on with. They actually are quite loose.  I was thinking maybe a silicone.  Anyone else run into this?

I wouldn't do anything to them so you don't do anything to affect the warranty. Contact Charles, zrs-8x42 on here, and see what he'll do for you. I imagine he'll take care of you.

Zen-Ray will fix or replace any problem free for life. Send them in.

I wouldn't send them in just for that. Contact Charles. I'm sure he will get you squared away. He does care about his customers!

I'll get a hold of Charles.  Just seems like a lot to have to ship them both ways to fix the eyecups.  Thanks

I have a pair of ED II's and I have lost both of my covers. Zen Ray wanted to charge me to send me new ones! When I sent  my binos in to repair a stuck eye piece: they didn't include replacement covers, they charged me for shipping and didn't event clean the binoculars. I like my binos but I'm not a fan of the customer service, good luck. I think they have improved their warranties on the newer models so I would contact them directly and see what they say.

Hello there,

I am sorry to hear the issue with your binoculars' eyecups.  You can use superglue from Loctite to glue the eyecup back on.  Before you attach the rubber eyecup covers on the metal ring, please carefully remove all residues.  Apply the glue at all three open areas on the metal twist-up rings between the tracks.  Be careful not to over-apply the glue.  You can then attach the eyecups back on, by trying to stretch it a little bit.

Please PM me if you need additional assistance.

Thanks

Charles
