Boat blind
« on: March 25, 2015, 08:08:23 PM »
This is my boat I bought last year. Not exactly made to be a duck hunting boat. I have a bunch of PVC I bought, camo net, and a few other ideas to camouflage my boat. Any ideas or words of wisdom with my style of boat?

Thanks
Brian

Burlap with brush attached. PVC probably wont hold up well, something that folds would probably work the best.

Buy a second one for just waterfowl hunting.     Unless this is just to get you from point A to B.  Then throw a parachute over it to conceal it.  Otherwise you could wrap it in camo, oil tarps and camo netting or burlap.

At least it's not red to start with.   :chuckle:

Pvc works fine as long as you have plenty of vertical bracing, it does not span more than 4 feet very well.  The gray, electrical stuff is easier to camo than white FYI.

Look up above on the "Waterfowl Boats and Blinds" thread. Some great ideas with pictures on there.

Thanks for the help. My wife won't let me buy another boat just for duck hunting. She'll come around though.

Buy an aquapod and use that boat to get from point a to b. I personally hate trying to hide my boat and hunt from it.

Looks like you already got camo downrigger cozies, what else do you need?  :chuckle:

Seriously, not sure where you're hunting but that is going to be a tough camo job... in addition to a bunch of pvc framing and vegetation hung on it,  I'd make sure you have 100% coverage on the glass and any other reflective surface. Which appears to be a large percentage of the overall surface area...

If you want to do it right look up pop up blinds , Jim does a great job on custom fitted boat blinds, he will build anything you want, he is a one man show and really puts out a well made product, well worth the price and you can take it off during the summer

If your just using it to run a to b, buy a big piece of burlap, and use it to cover it. I saw a guy who has a 26' and he keeps it rolled up on a 8' long pole, when he gets to his spot, lay seats down, and just unroll.
Is it waterfowl season yet..............

You need lots of paint....
