Question for the Master Hunters out there

So I got asked a question last night from a NWTF member and I was also thinking about this to.  The 20 hours of volunteer work.  I have done 2 outing 1 at Cabela's the other at Bass Pro Shop and doing another this weekend at Cabela's.  I will be talking about conservation, hunter safety, habitat management as per the NWTF mission Save the Habitat, Save the Hunt.  It is all volunteer being that I am a Lake Washington Chapter member.  Would those hours count?  I know I would have to get it approved but was wondering.  Also we are doing a Jakes event in June and we will be teaching kids basic map and compass skills, animal identification, calls and basic hunter safety.  I have read the requirement Here is what the WDFW site says
Wildlife Conservation Work
•Minimum of 20 hours to be certified
•Wildlife habitat work or service
•Must be approved in advance unless they meet the guidelines on the Conservation Projects page OR you have obtained the support and guidance from WDFW personnel in your local area.
•Must be approved by a representative of the organization or land owner.
•Arrangements are your responsibility
Objective: begin or sustain a lifetime of service

•.Many choices of projects:
•
- Wildlife habitat improvement projects
- Resolve animal depredation or nuisance wildlife complaints
- Support WDFW wildlife initiatives & partnerships
- Master Hunter administrative support
- Hunter Education instruction

I would think that this falls under support WDFW initiatives & partnerships.

I read these statements to mean that before or during the volunteering you've already done, you have received the support and guidance of the WDFW personnel in your area... Does the NWTF work with/consult with the WDFW to develop the information you're providing?  If not, don't be surprised if they say "no" to the previous volunteer hours, but are willing to approve your next outing as counting towards the 20.

No I know they wouldn't approve previous.  Plus I am not shooting for the master hunter as of this time but a member is wanting to put in time and I didn't know if they would go for that for future events.

Just call or email and find out. And, you can always ask about the hours you've already performed. All they can do is say no.

Contact WDFW to confirm. If it is not fundraising or membership recruitment it may be eligible.

"An example of private, non-profit organizations that could be contacted about volunteer work includes but is not limited to the following: Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, Mule Deer Foundation, Pheasants Forever, National Wild Turkey Federation, Safari Club International, Richland Rod and Gun Club, Inland Northwest Wildlife Council, Eyes In The Woods, Wenatchee Sportsmen’s Association, Washington Hunter Education Instructor’s Association, and Hunter Education Resource Organization. Please note that fundraising and membership recruitment activities do not qualify for conservation work credit."

I was at the IST this weekend and they mentioned this type of volunteer work coming up.  They were talking about this exact type of thing teaching people about hunting, calling, survival.  My guess is it will work for volunteer hours.  Steven Dazey will be able to confirm.
