Awesome!!Check out Killer Innovations. They have a nice brake that does not break the bank. They are locals to, down in Thurston County.
I would have pulled the trigger on a Remington 700 long Range in 7mm Rem Mag if I could have found one. I stopped in to Sportsman's in Wenatchee over the weekend but all they had was the 300 win. For the reasons you stated I passed. I know the 300 is to much recoil for me. And I do not want to mess with a brake on a hunting gun.I also stopped in a Cabelas on the way home in Marysville same story no 7mm.I did spend some time looking at scopes for the future rifle. What scope are you running. Thanks
No, I haven't use RL 25. I have pretty much always stuck with hogdons Extreme powder series because I am a hunting and I want my powder to be temperature insensitive.
I made up another load for my Remington 700 Long Range, 208 gr. A-Max, 76 gr. H1000, Loaded to max length at 3.600. That is my magazine length right there, and I'm still about .040 off the lands. I used a magneto speed to Chrony it, and it averaged 2907 fps. with a spread of about 20 fps throughout.
I didn't see any pressure signs whatsoever. i was surprised at how fast those 208's were moving, I was expecting around 2820ish. This was my first work up with the 208's and h1000. I have run the h1000 with the 200 Nosler AB, I was running 76.5 grains of h1000 and I was around 2840. I will chrony it again later because it was a heavier bullet, less powder, and stretched out further and was faster. I don't trust it yet.I am really struggling with accuracy though. I haven't really fine tuned a load because I can't shoot the gun accurately enough to stay under an MOA. I have had moments where everything clicks, everything feels right, and I pull the trigger and it does exactly what I want it to. I have a had a few groups that I can cover with a nickel, and it wasn't just luck, I did it a few times in a row. But then I stood up, and moved to a different place and then nothing meshed. I couldn't get it to group under an inch. The recoil is too much for me, and I'm a bigger guy, about 6 foot 230 lbs, it just beats me up. I'm not going to shoot it again until I get a brake.
Luvin the vapor trails Oh yeah great shootng

ThanksInteresting...I did get a 700 LR 7mm Mag from Cabelas...but it took a special order to get it. The guy at the gun counter (Tualatin,OR) said there were only 4 in the entire US..all at the Sidney,NB location...so he got me one. Haven't shot it yet but does anyone have an idea of a load for it?
