ATV field mower
« on: March 30, 2015, 06:45:35 PM »
Finally going to buy a field mower this year but don't know what brands to look at ? I'm going to be mowing 3 acres of pasture grass/weed . Are Swisher's worth the $ ? Should I go with a rough cut or finish cut ? Anybody know a place that you can actually look at them in person ? Thanks Allen

I looked at Swisher's and just couldn't see spending way over a grand for my area. Now, I would buy one for 3 acres...
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I've been looking for awhile and yes the money is worth it.  You want a rough cut, unless its just grass and you want it to look like your lawn when your done.  Rough cut wont look as clean, but the blade will hold up better than a finish cut mower.  The cheaper ones just don't have the HP to do a good job cutting through pasture grass and you will be fighting it.  If your going to spend the money, don't spend it on a turd.  Ive seen used ones for good deals before, just gotta be quick.  I wouldn't buy new unless you are desperate.  You can hire someone to bring a tractor out and cut it while you wait for much cheaper.
