Your Most Successful Hunting Method

Hello,
Whats the most successful method you use? While it may not be my favorite its hard to argue the effectiveness of a tree stand. Probably shot more animals from a tree stand than all other methods combined. - Thanks, Fuzznuts

For elk: Scouting and persistence. I'm not real familiar with elk habits, so by scouting I kinda get a feel for where they have been throughout the summer, and I just stay in the woods from sun up to sun down for the 2 weeks; unless I kill one one opening day at 8:00 like I did last year.
For whitetails: Scouting, tree stand and persistence.

Well. Not a bow hunter.
But for elk black powder, and a ground blind. Can't wait to get back in there.
Have three which I set up and rotate thru.

Killed most of my animals walking slow and very cautiously through the woods, always with consideration of the wind. But love the feeling of sitting in a tree stand, Killed my second biggest elk in a tree stand with a bow. When your in a tree stand you feel invisible, I love how much time you have to look over the animal with them not having a clue they are about to die.

I've never killed a deer from a tree stand. Ive killed 5 elk from a tree stand witch seems to be backwards for most people.

Bivy hunting
even if it's not way back in deep...finding your prey the night before season and camp about 250 yards down wind...it's been very very successful for me
Rinse and repeat till your ready for base camp
tree stands are very effective also

Hiking and bugling mid day til you get a response. Most bulls that our camp has killed have been between 10am-2pm. Most bulls that we have got bugling in that timeframe have came in.

Depends on how good a shot you are, what species you are after, quality of animal you are after, what time of year, bait or no bait, concentration of feed, etc, etc, etc. No one best method in my mind. Unless all you are hunting is whitetails, antelope, or bear over bait.
As Opie Cunningham would say, it's all about being on the right side of half a boy. Poor Horatio!

Hey Fuzz, I'm an ambush man. I have gotta say finding that special drainage or area they always move thru is very effective. then build your setup, treestand ground blind what have you. sit and wait. stay alert it seems like when you least expect it here he comes. I got this buddy who kills them out of his treestand all the time I think he is hoping the leagalize spears so he can stab them under his stand.
