Knight/rear peep and front hooded site setup

I've got the NECG rear site as well.  (I just copied Sabotloader  )  It's heavy, but I like it.  I have busted my front fiber optics 3+times.  I bought the front hood setup...but I botched the job. Put the short screw in the long hole....then wrecked it all trying the push the front site sideways with a hammer and nail. I didn't have a site pusher.

My buddies have rear peep sites which are more like 'rings' with fiber optic dots on the sides.  It defeats the purpose of a peep IMO.  Too distracting to the eye.  Peeps help focus the eye by forcing you to look "through" the hole.....not at the hole.  I like mine better.

Are these peep sites much different from the standard williams peep? I put a williams peep on my muzzie last year for my oregon blacktail hunt but kind of regretted it because all the action was in the evening and in low light I didnt care for the peep site because I couldnt see thru it. I was thinking of going back to the open sites after that experience. Nice looking muzzies guys.

There are a couple of options for in low light situations:
1. you can change the size of the peep adapter that you are using - the larger the hole the more light transmitted. I use a 0.093" adapter.

2. Plus there is an option for a 'Twilight' Aperture which helps a little bit with a Brass ring inside the aperture cup.



3. And the one that I do most often in low light - Remove the aperture and use the sight as a 'Ghost' ring aperture and when the light increases put the aperture back in.

This last one you really can not do with the NECG as the aperture helps hold the elevation control of the sight.

Where can I get this set up? I need two for my daughters muzzy. A Knight bighorn and wolverine. Looks like the peep sights with brass insert and the hooded front sight would fit the bill thanks

The front site setup I ended up buying from Midway. It's 3 seperate pieces. The ramp, fire site, and the hood. The rear I bought off of eBay. It's a NECG for a weaver base. I don't recall the exact part #'s for the front site pieces but I'm not sure that would be the correct stuff for your rifles. I bet you could get the NECG site from Midway as well.

They're kinda expensive.  It seems like I paid $90 just for the rear site.  (when I lost the apertures they only charged me $5 each for replacements.  They were $24 on Brownells.

The NECG site is normally about $90. I bought mine on eBay. Won the auction at $76 with free shipping.

The front setup was about $55 shipped all together from midway.
