PHOTO OF THE MONTH - APRIL 2015 - SHED ANTLERS/HUNTING DOGS (COMBO THEME)!
Show us your best shed antler or hunting dog photo!

PLEASE READ ALL THE RULES BEFORE ENTERING, YOUR IMAGE WILL HAVE TO BE DISQUALIFIED IF NOT FOLLOWED. :tup:

CONTEST RULES!  (Please read, new changes implemented for 2015)

1. Monthly Theme - Photos will be disqualified that do not match the monthly theme or violate contest rules.
2. Photo Size 800x800 Pixels or LESS - Most violated rule, you must resize or get help resizing (resizing info below).
3. No Photo Manipulation allowed - Only normal editing, cropping, sharpening, and small enhancements (black and white images are OK). Do not enter overly done HDR photos.
4. Entries Submitted As-Is - Moderators will not enhance or alter images for you, you are responsible for the photo submitted.
5. Current Photos Only - Photo must have been taken within the last calendar year.
6. Who Can Enter - Any member may enter 1 photo that they have taken or if they are shown in the photo.
7. One Entry Only -  Do not enter more than 1 photo per member or both entries will be disqualified.
8. Previously Entered WINNING Photos - of any month in this 2015 year are not eligible for entry in this months contest.
9. Entry Deadline - Midnight on the last day of the month. You may change or edit your photo at any time up until that date.
10. Waiting Period - The winner of this monthly contest is not eligible to enter next month's contest.
11. Judging - Photos will be voted on by members, if there is a tie, the moderators will decide the winner.
12. Preference - When voting, preference should be given for photos of Washington material.
13. Winning Prize - The Winner must send a message (PM) to "Smossy's Girl" with your name and mailing address.
14. All Photos become the property of Hunting-Washington upon contest entry and may be used at Hunting-Washington's discretion.
15. Photo Of The Year Contest - All monthly winners will be entered in the "Photo Of The Year Contest" hosted in January the following year once all that year's contests are completed.

How to Resize Photos if you have a Windows computer it only takes a minute:
a. Copy the file of the photo you want to resize (so you don't resize the original).
b. Right click on your new photo file.
c. Mouse over "Open With".
d. Click "Paint".
e. From the menu at the top, in the "Image" section - click "Resize".
f. Click the radial next to "Pixels".
g. Change the largest number (either horizontal or vertical) to 800.
h. Click "OK".
i. Click "File" on the top menu and choose "Save".

JANUARY  New Year's Adventures
FEBRUARY  Winter Paradise (any winter scene)
MARCH  Open/Anything Goes (including photo manipulation)
APRIL  Shed Antlers/Hunting Dogs (combo theme)
MAY  Bird Mania (any bird or bird success picture)
JUNE  Water Adventure (fishing, scenery, boating, crabbing, etc)
JULY  Baby Animals
AUGUST  Youth Activities
SEPTEMBER  Velvet Bucks or Bulls
OCTOBER  Camping & Hunting Adventures (not success photos)
NOVEMBER  Hunting Success (any hunting success photo)
DECEMBER  Open (your best photo taken in 2015)

Not my best shed but my favorite. Only one I actually dated with a sharpie to remember.  First one me and my girls found together. Few years ago now but will always be my best shed pic

BGLEMIN, how did you get that photo with that strong backlight situation, off camera flash? Great photo.

It was done by a professional photographer for an interview I gave to a Colorado newspaper on duck hunting and hunting dogs. The guy had set up a light shining at us with about as much brilliance as the sun behind. I couldn't even begin to describe the specifics of his equipment. I'm not one for "glamour" photos, but this is one I truly cherish.
