Amber's New Family
« on: April 04, 2015, 09:18:26 AM »
All the signs were there last night, she was hanging out in her crate in the basement (where we put it to be out of the way of her fancy new whelping box that I made), she carried a couple of toys down there through the evening, and her temp had dropped a little below what it had been... but she was still not supposed to have them for another four days.

It looks like four girls and three boys.  We will be weighing each one later, but one of the smaller ones was 12.5 oz.

All that prep and Amber took care of business all by her self.  Weathergirl is bummed that she didn't get to have hours of no sleep, worry, and drama.  :chuckle:

Be ready for lots of pics.   8)

This is sooooo weird! I had a dream last night that I came over to your house and was helping weathergirl make egg salad sandwiches for the puppies. She kept saying they're going to be so hungry once they're born and then they came and we were missing a sandwich so that puppy got steak.

So funny that she actually had them last night! Congrats to you guys with healthy looking puppies.. can't wait to see more pics! :)

That's hilarious!  When did you sleep enough to dream?  You were out getting those great moon photos....

Lol! .. I woke up at 3am for the eclipse and realized it was way toooo early. Set alarm and went back to sleep and that's when I had that dream. I really wish I would have messaged you like I wanted because that would have been too funny for you to wake up and read that! I have strange vivid dreams almost every night though, and I had been seeing cute little pregnant pictures of Amber on facebook so I know she was on my mind.

I think it just means I should get to come play with the puppies  :chuckle:  ;)

Come on up!  I have to be gone the opening weekend of shrimp...maybe you should send the guy out shrimping with Ed, and you can play with puppies!  Or maybe you'd want to shrimp too...or hang with me when I'm home... ;) Of course I should probably check with Ed...

Might have a male available.  All of the others are spoken for.  The third male may go to Finland to be a search and rescue dog, however, the import requirements would end up having us keep him until week 16 or 17 as well as beginning training.  I'm not sure I want to learn enough Finnish to do that though.      :chuckle:

Can't ship puppies overseas until they are old enough to have had full vaccinations. Even then quarantines apply in some countries which can be up to 6 months or longer. Add $5k to the price plus $2k shipping with an escort. Lol is Herskowitz Finnish now? Lol

Looks like 12-14 weeks for rabies shot, then 3 weeks for it to take effect and test.  The buyer is going to come get him.

More pics...

Thought it was time for an update.  Eyes open and getting playful!  18 days old...so fun to see the little personalities develop!  If you are dying to see photos daily, like "Islandgold Retrievers" on Facebook.  :)
