« on: April 05, 2015, 06:44:09 PM »
needed  :dunno: :dunno: :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

I am planning on taking the boat over for some walleye and perch fishing to Potholes this weekend, but I have never fished for either and any hints on places or techniques to use would be great

Skillet be a good one to talk to gasman.  I'll be out on Banks in July for a guided fishing trip for walleye.  Good luck.

I may be available Saturday to meet up with you! I hope my boat is done by then (bow mount) and I will be fishing as well. Send me a PM, maybe you could swing by my work and visit for a few Friday evening...

Gasman,
Worm harness rigs with a night crawler and a 1 1/2 to 3 oz bottom walker will work well. Perch is a good color. Just look for the boats. 15 to 35 ft of water. Stop by Mardons a check for current info. They have everything you will need. good luck

yeah unfortunately with the weather prediction of up to 25 mile an hour winds I think we should postpone this weekend.

The X at the bottom of the map seems a bit far from the water. Somebody have a fish tank there?

Well went and fished the arm this morning only about a 1/2 dozen trailers in the lot. Was a nice morning today sunny and not much breeze until I got to were I was fishin. We picked a few "smalleye" that went back had several bites that bite my worm short or just wouldn't stick.  Switched up to a Slo-Death and then the wind came up. Couldn't control the boat and the drift speed was around 2 1/2 miles an hour. So we admited defeat and came home. But thats fishing and there is always another day.  But I can't catch them sitting on the couch.

When I got up Saturday morning and saw that we did not get any rain as forecasted, and the wind was not to bad, I though the weatherman had really messed up! But, the wind did not disappoint and blew HARD after mid morning.

Went Friday with my son and only thing we could get to stick was a 18-20 inch rainbow. He was happy to catch it. Missed more than we should have. :chuckle:
