Rabbit parasites?

Anyone ever seen this before?  First for me.

WTH- looks like some alien creatures took over. Kinda disgusting.

I've eaten a lot of rabbits from around here, but I've never seen that.  I hope you passed on eating that one.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

Cysticercosis is a parasitic infection common to cottontail rabbits and snowshoe hares

Yeah I seen some in the deserts of the Southwest. I see way more cottontails down here than I ever did in WA but anybody wanting Togo rabbit hunting has to watch the thermometer like a hawk and go out the day after a hard freeze--if we get one at all that winter.

I have seen that parasite in almost every rabbit and hare (lots and lots) I've killed on Fort Lewis, freezing weather or not.  I've never seen anything in the meat and always ate it.
