Multi Season Statistics
« on: April 10, 2015, 08:14:50 PM »
Does anyone know when the multi season stats will come out? Like how many applied and and how many permits there were?

If it's anything like last year, it'll be several months.

Here is the response I got today to an email I sent yesterday. Per the response the number of permits were the same. There was no mention of the number of applicants. The 50% draw rate I came up with was from the polls & comments on HW:

Dear Mr. Voigt,

Thank you for contacting the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

We are not sure where you got that 50% amount. For the multi-season deer, there are 8500 permits. In both 2014 and 2015, there were more people that put in for the permit than we had permits available. Due to this, not everyone who put in was selected. In 2013, we had less than the 8500 people put in for the multi-season permit and thus, everyone who put in was drawn.

The number of tags has not changed.

If you have more questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.

Sincerely,

The following question/comment was submitted from your knowledgebase
-----------------------------------------------------

From: Mike: On a website site I visit I noticed the number of hunters selected in the drawing was running less than 50%. Did something change this year? Were there less tags or more applicants?

Thank You

Thanks Brushbuster. I'll be interested to see the numbers when they come out. It still seems fishy that poll is running close to 50% success rate on this site after such high success rates in previous years.

Last year 8763 people put in for the 8500  multiseason deer permits. 2 out of 5 of us drew. And I was not one off them. With that being said, suspect more people applied this year.

Well if that's true, we can all expect the price to jack back up next year.

If that were true the elk multi season permit would be $400.

Muleyslyr thinks they will raise the price of the multi season deer tag back up because of all the applicants.

Personally, I think they are more likely to raise the amount of permits.

They will be selling a lot more multi season deer tags now so I don't see them increasing the number, or the price. With the unsold tags now going back up for sale August 1st, it's likely all 8,500 will be sold. In the past the WDFW said they really didn't want to issue that many tags, but drew 8,500 people, knowing that a high percentage of those drawn would not purchase the tag.

I can't believ you guys actually had to call/email fish and game to figure out why you didn't draw a tag. Is it really that hard to comprehend? Talk about something continually on the internet about being a sure and wonderful thing and you can garantee at some point it will no longer be that way. The high hunt is a great example. good work once again internet
