"Three-day backcountry bear hunt with Goat Rocks Adventures (valued at $750)".

"This hunt will take place in the Goat Rocks Wilderness, we will be hiking in about 2 miles and setting up a spike camp while glassing and hunting 1-2 miles beyond camp. Food, shelter, gear (if needed), and round trip transportation from Southwest Washington are included. The terrain is a little steep in areas, but if you are in good shape it shouldn't be a problem. Just to give you a little insight, last year on one particular morning I glassed 5 different bears within the first 2 hours of daylight. While I cannot guarantee you will harvest a bear, I will promise a memorable experience. I only require that you carry your own pack, book the trip in August, and bring an adventurous spirit. For more information on typical gear visit www.goatrocksadventures.com"

The Raffle tickets will be $10.00 a pop. The drawing will occur at the January 31st Get Together. You do not have to be present to win. You may purchase your tickets via a PayPal account.  Once it is received we will mail your ticket(s) to you. All proceeds will be going to a New Youth Hunter Fund that we have just set up. I will be posting more info on the Fund in the next couple of days.

The PayPal Account is :  BrianSolomon@Comcast.net
These raffle tickets are not tax deductible.

what and where is this meet you speak of?

One technical point - I need to verify with the Pope and Young Records Office about the raffle.  It is our policy not to take any payment for scoring/entering animals into the Records.  Since this is a fund-raising raffle and I will not be paid by anyone, I think it will be fine.  I do want to verify though.

For any reason the Club deems this out of policy, I will let KillBilly know ASAP.  Thanks!

bow4elk you gonna be at the meet thing?

Tom (bow4elk) is going to be at the meet. He will score at least 5 racks that day. The racks he scores will be decided by raffle at $5.00 a ticket. The reason we are doing it by raffle is not to pay Tom. It is to keep the number down so Tom has a chance to enjoy the meet also. The money is not for the scoring, it goes to the Youth fund. If Tom decides to do more than 5, they will be decided by another raffle draw. We felt this was a very fair way of doing it.

Any other people coming that know how to score?
Doesn't have to be an official scorer. Just trying to decide if it is worth bringing some racks.

Tom does B&C scoring also but it wouldn't be on official paper. I am assuming he will score skulls also. He will be there.

I don't need it on paper, but I don't want to pack mounts or racks there just on a "draw" chance to have them scored.

News flash!!! Scoring by raffle has been canceled. There will be a P&Y scorer and a B&C scorer at the meet. They can and will do as many as they want to. Tom can give official P&Y Scores and Jay Does both P&Y and B&C official scoring.
They probably both want to mingle and enjoy the party too.

What is going to happen with the guided bear hunt now that there is no bear hunting on public lands in August? Can the date be changed to September?
