How many bears have you folks seen at this time of the year over your entire lifetime? Or tracks. Do y'all see any tracks in snow?

I just saw a bear last week, Thursday, the 15th, while at work. We were within 150 feet. She moved off and then we got a little closer and could hear the cubs squalling. We didn't stick around very long once we realized there was a den with newborn cubs.

Only seen a couple bears at this time of year, but I usually start seeing tracks in the snow in March near the coast.

Why?

Because they knocked the crap out of them the last few years. Prior to the spring hunt there were less then a dozen killed up there every year. Since the spring hunt those numbers shot up. But now it doesn't really matter if they don't let us hunt in August.

Can't blame me for that  :chuckle: We just did our job of chasing em around :dunno:

What are you all worried/complaining about? By the time it is spring bear, we will only be allowed to shoot them with spit.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.
