2015 Daddy/Daughter Turkey Hunt.

Had a real fun hunt with our 5yr old daughter in the evening after I got home from work. We set up the Hut and got ready. Not 5 minutes daughter forgot the snacks. She bails back up to the house for snacks. Comes back all is good. Now she forgot her leap pad so we can play games while we wait for T Tom Turkey to come. She bails back up to house for leap pad. Comes back down and all is good again. We knock out a couple games and watch the deer come out to feed. Same deer we see everyday but its way better from sitting in the Hut. She makes some real soft turkey calls on our slate call and wait...... After sometime the deer are stareing in one direction? I tell her to get ready they might be looking at incoming Toms? Sure enough we see there red heads coming across the tall grass. Two Toms come down looking for the hen. I asked her which one we should shoot? She points to one and I told her we can't because one of the deer was directly behind the turkey. She says OH ya OK shoot the other one! So I had her squak on the call to get his head stretched out tight and I shot it. She blows out of the Hut with her bow and arrow and proceeds to finish him off. Very fun opening day hunt for being in the Hut for 1hr 45min.....

This story absolutely made my day. Congratulations on a nice bird, and on starting your daughter on the path to being a life-long sportswoman!

After rereading all the 2015 turkey stories I have to say this one was the best. I am just a little excited for it to start.
