One less fawn killer today!!
« on: January 03, 2009, 02:47:23 PM »
Had a few hours to kill this morning. Made two sets. The first set lasted about 5 minutes. I wasnt even ready and I saw the yote at about 100 yards within 30 seconds, he dropped into a little ditch and never popped back out. I figured he was circling me so I crawled over the hgump behind me to see him trotting away out of range.

Set 2. Decided to try the feather on a stick(turkey feather/fishing line) that I threw together as I ran out the door. 5 minutes later after squeeling, dog down at 125 yards. He was fixed on that feather. I had it out about 75 yards in front of me. I should have seen if he would have attacked it. It looked like he wanted to.

Very responsive to calls. Wish I didnt have so many honey do's this afternoon.  :bash:

That's what it looks like to me and it's probably a very economical way to convert your regular cammies to a white snow suit!!!

Sure is. I dont goose hunt and dont do much hunting in the snow anymore. Call me a tight wad but $3 gets about 3-4 uses. Most the time I get em for free anyway.

With all the snow this year I might have to invest in a  pull over set of snow camo though. Snow usually doesnt stick around this long here.

I got a set of un-insulated pull-overs. . .in Snow Mossy Oak Break Up and they are AWESOME!!! They were about $50 for both a hooded jacket and a pair of pants. . .not to bad!!!

They are the fleecy material too. . .so it isn't really loud either. . .I just wear my snowboarding pants underneath and I'm warm all day long!!!

The Snowy Mossy Oak Break Up is AWESOME for Western Washington too. . .it just disappears in the timber cuts!!! I would highly suggest a set of pullovers in the Break Up Pattern. . .I used it with one guy and he couldn't pick me out and he knew where I was sitting. . .I have the face mask as well. . .worn a woodland tiger stripe boonie hat over that and I was set!!!

Still you can't beat a $3 cover-up and if you can get it for free all the better. . .

You paint or work in the paintshop or you just found them and they were cheap?  I just "retired" from bodywork.  Hate it.

I do not paint. The local store will give them to you when you buy paint. When I built my first house I bought a ton of paint and ended up with some suits. Never used for anything other than camo. :chuckle:

After missing so many it starting to feel like luck when I connect  :chuckle: Give me a few more weeks and then we might consider actually changing my screen name to lead slinger.

Slinger wish you would leave my yotes alone out there. I was the guy that talked to you in my driveway. That place is like my own little private Idaho.
