First Turkey hunt was a success
« on: April 19, 2015, 07:19:21 AM »
First turkey trip was awesome. Birds vocal in their roost but silent once they hit the ground. Were able to find this one when he came down from his roost and took him down from 15 yards. Beard is just a tick over 9 inches. Awesome first bird and definitely hooked.
This is the year im going to get drawn, i can feel it. NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED... damn :(

Good job   They are always vocal while in the roost and when they hit the ground but unfortunately they seem to disappoint many hunters when they decide to leave with their hens  :chuckle: To me that is one of the things that hooked me on turkey hunting ..just listening to the sounds of spring ..nothing better other than a screaming bull elk

:yeah:
Great Bird!
I love the sounds of spring. Birds ,squirrels and Turkeys firing off. It's awesome. I was walking down a trail this year bumped a black bear, hid blow was something else, I've never heard anything like it. Definitely not sounds of the city.
