What u perfer black bass or lings

Hey there I hear a lot of word about that some people perfer black bass over ling cod any day so I figured I would see what people would perfer to eat or what taste better

I love black bass.

I prefer no worms to worm overload.  So ling is my fish of choice.  But I will gladly eat some worms if black rock fish are all I have available.  Eaten hundreds of pounds of them over the years.  I'll take Cabazon any day over both.

Black Rock are also a blast to catch on top water gear and fly rod!

Both have their good points  We have caught bunches of both, and would not throw either back    In fact, my wife wants to put at least 200 pounds in the boat

After they've sat in a hot gunnysack on the deck of a cattle boat, ling.     Fresh and kept cold, they're both good, but still ling, as I like the more firm meat.

Ling is way better.  It's firmer and sweeter.  I would just about eat any cold water white meat fish over seabass.

Deep fried ling cod is a fantastic eating fish.

Black rockfish is like pink salmon, I talk it up to people who don't know any better to decrease demand on ling cod and King Salmon.

I give the lings away, seabass for me hands down. Big flakey, firm meat. I will take it over any fish I have ever had, and I have had a bunch. I have never seen a worm in sea bass so not sure were that came from, True cod very wormy, sea bass not so much.

Black rock fish are my favorite of any fish and I'll trade pound for pound salmon, halibut or ling to get more rock fish. Those guys who say they are not firm are crazy, I have found many worms but just cut them out. Worms are in less than 10% of the rock fish I have caught and I have found them in lings and halibut.
They are not really sea bass! We do not have sea bass here they are found farther south. We do how ever have rock fish that frequently are the black variety.

Lingcod easily.  I have eaten tons of rock cod, seabass, and black cod and do like it all but there is more meat on the lings and a lot less worms.  I know you can always cut them out and I get them in Halibut occasionally too but those worms can be a major turn off especially with guests and the wife.  If I see them I try and cut them out right away and usually don't tell anyone that is not used to them being there.

I spear a bunch of both every year.  I actually prefer the taste of Black Rockfish over Lingcod.  I like the meat quality better on Lings however.

Not sure what the big deal is with the worms.  Most fish have them and they cook out the same color as the meat so I don't even think about it.  The only fish that I take worms out of are Surf Perch.

I guess to each their own.
