Monster Raxx mineral
« on: April 22, 2015, 10:00:52 AM »
Has anyone ever used this or delt with the manufacturer? I saw it at the big horn show and really liked what was in it. I ordered 6 bags online a month ago. Never got any sort of email conformation and since then have tried called them multiple times a week especially the last couple and have left multiple messages. No one ever answers or calls back. If anyone is thinking about buying this I dont recommend it. I think I'm going to report it to my bank and the BBB.

Maybe it was delivered while you were at work and the deer came in an ate all 6 bags.  :dunno: That sucks not being able to get ahold of them.

Here's one brand from the feed store. No need to buy overpriced salt from whitetail farmers. :chuckle:

I use the trace mineral block with selenium.  Drip a little molasses on it and the elk & deer fight over it.  About $8 at the feed store.  Put it in the shed after the season and they last for years.

So I did buy a couple bags of trace mineral. But where do you get the calcium and phosphorus to add in your mineral licks? I would like to find a good supplement that has calcium and phosphorus to help with angle growth. Trace mineral doesn't have either one.

Thanks

no idea on that

I have read many studies on if mineral sites aid in antler growth and all of them said no or no actual evidence showing any effect. If you think about how much a buck spends at a site and frequency I dont know how it would. Most mature bucks literally spend minutes and are gone and dont hit them on a daily basis. During the green season till velvet comes off they eat 10-17lbs of food a day! what they consume on a daily basis is more important and the quality of that food they consume will have a far greater effect than a lick. Protein is king! increase the protein content of the feed and it will increase the size of the deer and antlers. Better off planting plots or fertilizing areas you hunt to make the food more nutritious.

Oh I have made my plot and planted it 2 1/2 weeks ago that is high protein food. I know protein has a lot to do with it. But as far as mature bucks wont hit it on a daily basis I have to disagree. My site at my parents place has big bucks I have all year long lick on it at minimum ever other day. I just want them to have everything they possibly need is all. The blocks that had good calcium and phosphorus content I was buying last year north 40 no longer carries since the new owners.

suburb deer vs mountain deer are different...My big bucks at my spots avg every 4-7 days hitting the site and its no more than 4-8 min. Come mid to late July it gets even worse as the lush green food dries up and by mid august dome bucks dont even hit them anymore

These deer are in mountains. I have that same problem in mid august. I get them almost every day till then. But that spot is just a meadow with grass in it they feed in. I need to plant it with something that has better nutrients to keep them around I think

I find that deer and elk pretty much quit hitting my mineral sites in August.
