Just missed a Goldfish that looked like a king salmon.
« on: April 23, 2015, 07:47:44 PM »
Still trying to get my first bow fish kill. Managed to find some carp today shooting from shore and
ended up braking my nock, so i had to drive 30 minutes all the way home and get  another arrow by the time i got back
to my initial spot the carp were gone.

Walked down the bank a little ways and there was a goldfish on the bank that was literally 3 feet long.
aimed low and missed. retrieved my arrow shot again and missed then the giant was gone. Wish i had a picture of that thing.
A remarkable experience is one where the pain is forgotten so quickly, the frustrations and struggles are forgotten the minute you’re done.

I can’t wait to do it the next time.

Stink with it bud ..it takes practice ..the best advise I can give you is you need to shoot in front of the fish ..that way the arrow has a chance to get down to the fish ..it all comes with experience has to how far you need to shoot below them ..the deeper they are the more you need to shoot lower .. I always been a bank shooter myself ..just the I always done it ...

:yeah: It really is instinctive shooting. Once you do stick one, it will click and you will only get better from there! Wait until you stick one in the tail of those hog roundmouth, it is a BLAST!! Man, I'm getting antsy now....

People turn them loose from time to time and they can get pretty big!

I've seen them to about 16" long in Jump-Off-Joe lake...and I thought that was a darn big goldfish.
