Bob White Quail and Pheasant Eggs
« on: April 27, 2015, 09:14:07 PM »
Anyone know where to get some eggs for hatching?  I've ordered some from Cali but the ship date has been pushed back twice now and I'm starting to get frustrated.

thx
Mike

There are several folks in western WA selling pheasant eggs on Craigslist. I would recommend that you make sure the seller is licensed and you get the state receipt proving you bought them form a licensed seller unless you plan on eating them only then buy them from where ever. PM "Old dog" on here, I don't know if he was doing pheasants again but he maybe able to point you in the right direction. As for bobs you can find them on CL as well but I would look at ebay, some of the bigger farms will sell you 1000 eggs for about $200.00

What do adult pheasant run I might be interested in some.
Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

Wasledman.....I would be VERY interested in what they are asking for mountain quail and how many someone can buy. Eggs are selling online for between $10-15 each plus shipping  :yike:! Birds when you can find them are over $100 a pair plus shipping  :yike: :yike:! If you are getting mountain quail (blue body and back, brown/maroon belly with white stripes and a straight top knot) I definitely want to know more. Let me know what day they are coming in and I will be there. I love raising them and with the hit and miss weather we have had my hens are not laying well this year.

My honest guess is that you are being sold California valley quail as mountain quail, but please PM me any details you have, I will be glad to share with you what my experiences with mountain quail are.
