PROPOSED NEW CONTEST
I've submitted a request for the contest to WDFW, if and when we get the permit we will open the contest to entries. It sounds like I should have a final answer in a couple days and I will start the contest at that time if permitted.

NOTE TO ALL TURKEY HUNTERS:
Be sure and take photos of your bird, photos of the weight, photos of the beard and spurs and fill out a score sheet (see below and see attachment). Hang onto the photos and info until we start the contest.

RULES:
I'm still tweeking the rules, if you have ideas please feel free to post them, that will help us.
 - Season: Turkeys legally harvested during any open season in Washington April 4, 2015 to March 30, 2016 may be entered
 - Licenses: Washington hunting license and appropriate turkey tag is required
 - Membership: You must be a forum member prior to the start of the season in which the animal was harvested
 - Requirements: The hunter must submit a story of the hunt, pictures of the bird, and claimed score on hunting-washington.com
 - Score System: The official NWTF scoring system will be used
 - Determination: Highest score in each category wins. Best photo as chosen by forum membership wins.
 - Prizes: undetermined
 - Discretion: Judges may challenge any entry
 - Deadline: The entry deadline for the 2014 contest will be March 31, 2015.

Sure, once we get the permit and start the contest have him enter, same with you Matt, enter your beard, 10" is pretty good.

I got word the permit is going to be approved, I should have it by next week sometime. I will officially post the contest when I have the permit in hand.
