Bass reports from the corner to CDA?
« on: May 01, 2015, 10:24:58 AM »
Heading up this coming Thurs to fish Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, and some of the other local areas. Most likely will stick with ID, but could venture into WA.

Looking for any recent info on temps, stages, etc. Last year we went up about this time and saw some cold temps still, and we hit a front so it was shut down real tight. Hoping to show my buddy what real green fish action is like - tired of fishing the big C.

Two of the guys I work with say the Snake is doing pretty good right now for bass.   Can't really help much beyond that.

Liberty Lake today. Eloika tomorrow. Fishing Senko's slow. Went to Hauser Monday with little luck. Caught one dink on a perch colored crank bait. Electronics aren't working but would guess  water Temps in the mid 50's. That may be pushing it. Then again with the warm temps we've been having it may be warmer. Here's a couple pics from today. My wife's looks bigger because I'm a better photographer  ;) Hopefully we have a good day tomorrow. I will update if we do.

Nice ones!  Would love to see the Eloika report since I'll be in the area toward the end of the month and I'm thinking about float tubing it for largemouths if I can find public access.

Slow day at Eloika. Got on the water around 9:30. Lots of boats on the south so we went to the north side. Started heading back to the south. My wife lost a good fish right at the boat. We motored down to first cove south of boat launch and caught 2 in the cove. Wife and I doubled, out towards the middle. All in all it was pretty slow. Gonna give it a few more weeks before we go back. Gonna try Newman tomorrow. Public launch is super easy to find. Highway 2 threw Riverside, go up the hill and take a left at Miller's one stop. The road dead ends at the launch. Here's a couple shots from today.

Thanks for the info. Have several trips planned a little later, I want to hit up a lot of water up there this year. Miss living up there - best part about it was all the water. I don't have many options down this direction unfortunately.

Ended up at CDA Friday/Saturday. Found water temps in spots up to 67. Also found some a lot of pre spawners as there are a lot of areas that are getting ready to take off. Best bag would have close to 24lbs, including this girl.

Lot of fish in the 3 - 4 range.

Hit a couple other local smaller waters Sunday/Monday and did much better in terms of #s, but not size. Will be up again first weekend in June.

Not quite, 7.10. Being as I'm out of green fish practice since moving down here I missed a lot of fish. Frustrating to say the least - but I miss it immensely. I love cranking for smallies, but nothing like flipping/pitching and throwing swimbaits.

Got my shot at Eloika on Saturday.  Somehow I managed to catch 3 largemouths, all about 12", but I couldn't escape the weeds for the life of me, even over the deeper water.  It became frustrating tangling my legs in the weeds at all times in my float tube and I managed to bring in enough milfoil to make a salad on just about every cast.  Note to self: try that lake a little earlier in the spring next time. 8)
