BADBOY!
« on: May 05, 2015, 04:55:57 PM »
Anyone have experiences with this brand of mower? :dunno:

Looking to upgrade to a bigger fabricated deck, and zero turn mower to shorten my mowing experience.  :chuckle:

No info here, my good friend has a hussler mower and it's a 1 piece stamped deck.  He loves it, has had it for about 6 years.

My future father in law just bought one. It's a 54 inch with a 24 hp Kawasaki motor. Has a hydraulic deck and pretty comfy seat. Can't go wrong with bad boys financing either I hear. They guys their even dropped it off at his house and showed him the works on how to mow with a zero turn. Sound like a good company all around. definitely get Kawi motor if you get one. They are beasts. You will cut your time down by over half easy. Good luck and post pics of what ya get!
Ps. Here is My gravely 60 inch and liked the way mine mowed just a little better. But bad boy was still great mower and smooth ride.
This is the year im going to get drawn, i can feel it. NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED... damn :(

Must be an older model, doesn't look like their current line.  :dunno:

The model I want only comes with the Kohler engine, it has to be better than a Briggs and Stratton.

I spoke with the guy that sells them off of Cook Rd.  They sounded like a very good mower other than the price tag.  He had mentioned a 1/4" deck on them to keep them from rusting out.  Sounded pretty good.  My buddy ended up getting one and so far has really liked it.  He may have paid around $7,800 for it.

He just bought it last month from the dealership. It's a 2014. Not sure what model your looking at though. The kholer motors have come Far. As long as it's not the kholer courage series. I have heard bad thing about them. But hear say is hear say, I have no experience with the kholer.

Cook RD. IS Kubota dealer they are nice nut spendier than Badboy for what you get and baggers systems are costly.

Picked up the 54 inch Badboy MZ Magnum yesterday and boy does it mow fast, cut my 4 hour job into 2.5. With more experience driving my pod racer and tuning in with the force I know I can get it down under 2 hours, just a padawan for now.  :chuckle:

The evenness and cut quality are outstanding for a machine that goes 7 MPH while mowing, my Johndeere could not even come close to that at its slow speed.

Sounds like your real happy with it.  How is the ride?  Do you have real planted grass or mowed weeds?  I have almost 3 acres I mow and man it is getting old.  It is by no means a real lawn meaning it is somewhat uneven and was never tilled or raked out.

A couple years ago my rider steering linkage  broke so my brother brought over his Gravelly mower for me to use with a 60" deck if I remember correctly.   I loved how fast it was but my lord I may well been riding a bull or a 70's dirt bike. I think I would buy one if it wasn't for that.  It takes me between 2:30 minutes to 2:45 to mow it all but, I have a lot of obstacles and basically 4 different areas to mow.  After 11 years of it it isnt much fun anymore. In fact, I mowed tonight.

My rider is a Honda 18 HP and it is 2000 model with a 48" deck. Still runs like a top, deck is in good shape.  Probably one of the wisest investment I have ever made

Dad and I have almost identical Husqvarna riders,  mine has briggs and his has the kohler....briggs far and away has been the better engine of the two.

his has a nasty governor surge and now it's hard starting.  I got to dig into it see why it won't fire up.  mine's never even hiccupped. They've both been eating the same gas from the same barrel.

Real planted grass, and yes if it wasn't tilled and raked it would be a rough ride. :chuckle:

Well my JD has a Briggs and likes new head gaskets every 300hr or so, hopefully the Kohler will be more reliable. :dunno:

I was going to Buy A Bad Boy last year, ended up buying a Husqvarna MZ52LE  with a Kawasaki motor and fabricated deck and am very happy with my purchase and the cost savings over the Bad Boy.

What did you pay for yours?

They are good but they don't have side bagging as an option which really sold me on mine.

$4200.00 0% interest for 48 months is what I Paid for mine. The Bad Boy Zt elite was the comparable mower I was looking at, It had the same motor and tranmission's as mine but it did have a heavier deck on it. It also was $1400.00 more
