Looks something similar to a crop circle, like a crop circle gone bad.
Hope we dont find some bodies down river...  :yike:

Cool shot.  Anyone have any idea what caused this?  Kinda looks like something busted the ice in the middle and it froze a thin layer instantly after breaking.  Made me think of an animal trying to get across. It got half way there and the ice busted.  Any other thoughts? 

By the way my name is Gabe and just wanted to say you guys have a cool site going on here with lots of good pics and knowledge and I just wanted to say thanks for both.

Hey Gabe, The swirl was caused by the current, like an eddy or back current. It was cool, because the circle was actually moving. It reminded me of something you would see in outer space. lol
