Why is there even rules?
« on: May 06, 2015, 06:46:43 AM »
Went up joe watt this last wknd. old people tracks old veichle tracks and it took me about 20 mins to get up to the top flats and there were 2 camps already set up looked like they had been there for days. usualy between myself my kids and my buddies we pick up around 20 horns or so in 5 days, this yeay we picked up 5 freakin 5. The game department needs to step it up a notch since horn hunting has gotten to be such a money maker for the guys that dont have a real job and all they want to do is rape the woods for all its natural resources and make money off of it. I hate to take my kids out and have them not find anything its a real demotivator for them, but they still have a good time i suppose.

Were the camps within the winter boundary?  I was told the back roads such as taneum were open to travel.  I expected some people had already walked the country west and north of the boundary. You know what everyone says about the lack of snow and how the elk scattered.  I was frustrated cause i should have been first to walk across those great open flats and there was nothing, not even a rag horn, and a thousand elk tracks all over the ground.

The winter closure area in only below the 3,000 foot elevation so in years were there's now snow people come in from above and pick them up , its been that way since day one
