Whats wierd at my property that isn't very far out of town and isn't close to the one earlier stated is I had deer hit mineral august- now all winter long and fall. I only owned it since August of last year somaybe it will change since they will have plenty all year long this time.

I find that deer and elk pretty much quit hitting my mineral sites in August.

As soon as the velvet comes off the cravings go away.

mt deer that I am referring to have never seen a ag field in their lives...Im talking in the middle of nowhere deer..those deer are completely different.

Elk seem to hit salt longer and more consistently than deer in sept and oct..we get pics of elk on all of our salts in Sept and Oct

I don't know. I have pretty much only ever used salt at my camera sites. I don't bait those sites to hunt over, so I never really worried too much about hunting season timing. Last year I did have a buddy hunt one of them in a ground blind for a day or 2 and he dumped some bag of deer corn or something like that he bought at Walmart and they seemed to like that based on the pictures, but that was a 1 time deal.
