help with special hunt areas
« on: May 10, 2015, 06:30:29 PM »
Is there an easy way to search for special hunt areas on the wdfw website. Many of the regions and areas that are listed as options aren't showing up on the go hunt interactive maps. Also is there a specific place to search for the master hunter special hunt areas? I could dick around on the site for a few more hours and figure it out myself but I figure one of you guys or girls probably have the answer. Thanks!

Deer and Elk areas display on GoHunt. GMUs display on GoHunt. What are you looking for?

When your the interactive map all deer and elk areas will show up if you select them deer and elk areas. If you are looking at statistics for different special permits select elk or deer then bottom right of page select individual hunts
People get offended at nothing at all. So, speak your mind and be unapologetic.

Specifically Im having trouble finding some of the Master hunter areas. For example the options listed for the master hunter deer special permit are: Republic, Region 1-6 (listed individually) and the points option. How do i find where the regions 1-6 are? They don't appear to be listed in the elk and deer location lists or when search for them in the search bar on go hunt.

They are somewhat non specific to allow flexibility for the hunt coordinator to address problems within a county, region, or gmu.

If you drew region 4 north you could be dispatched to gmu 437,418, or 407.

The six regions are based on counties. The specific hunts areas for damage control type hunts are not listed in the regulations, because they are not known at time of publication. They vary from year to year.
