Son's bird
« on: May 12, 2015, 08:55:11 AM »
We went out this past weekend in search of a gobbler.  Hunted Friday and Saturday hearing a fair number of morning gobbles but couldn't work one in quite close enough.  On Sunday morning the birds were very quiet.  We stayed put for a few hours on our last morning and kept our eye on some jakes that were working a field as we tried to get gobbles from a far ridge.  As time was running out we decided it was going to take a change in tactic if he was going to be able to put a bird in the cooler.  We had a great 3 days of hunting, hanging out, driving, scouting, sitting, and trying to figure out birds.  Plus a few hamburgers thrown in.  Great weather and good memories.
