First of all I want to thank everyone who posted/offered to help etc from this forum, this is an awesome resource. Now a Thanks to my very good hunting partners and friends Steve and Tim (Elk Burger and Jungle Cat) along with new found friends Chad Greenwalt, his son Austin, and his friend Christian who all were a prt of this experience and without their help this would not have been what it was. This hunt was not about the biggest Billy on the mountain of which it wasn't (4.5 inch bases,7 inch length) but more about a great time and lots of laughs with good friends new and old. Of which this was all of that, thanks to you all again,I am off to the WDFW and then the taxidermists to have my trophy shoulder mounted!!!!

Congrats!  Looks like there was a bit of luck involved there to keep him from going over!

Yes it was lucky he stopped, we had to form a line and drag him back uphill to do the processing....and he was in the best place to shoot than any of the others were.

Throwing this out there, from experiance(I shot my goat in 93) you may want to reconsider on the shoulder mount and go just a hair bigger with a quartering out of the wall with one leg on a pedastal rock, sure wish I'd have done something more than a shoulder. I did have a gun rack made from the front hooves/ankles and the rest of the hide tanned. Any goats a nice goat, I stopped at one,it was more than enough and I was 25.Congrats

Elkterd did a great job getting up into goat country, I hope I'm able to do the same 10 years from now! He also put a great shot on that billy.1 shot, 1 kill. Too bad that goat was on a steeper than expected shelf and slid 60 yards to the ledge. I'd say the 140 gr Berger from the 270 did the trick!
All in all it was an awesome experience with great people. I hope I draw a tag soon!
Can't wait to chase a billy of my own someday.
Congrats Brad! Now lets round out the OILs with your sheep in16'!
