What made you go Paleo? Just curious

I am not going paleo... but my lifestyle is already 3/4 there (steak with no veggies for dinner or wild game)

No veggies or wild game!  What is the point of living without some good veggies alongside a nice cut of venison?  Next thing you'll say is you've given up cheese and peanut butter cookies :yike: :chuckle: :chuckle:
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

The modern world eats processed starches way, way too often. Yes we should eat more meat and vegetables. I happen to be blessed with a high metabolism and when I eat just steak and salad or broccoli and roast I can't stay full. I have to eat some fatty quesadilla or something so I don't starve to death.

Almost 20 pounds a month!  Nice

I did a diet once.  Even lost some weight.  Then someone gave me a double batch of cookies and I decided I like being fat.  I have no self control over peanut butter cookies.  They make me happy

My wife and I have been trying to eat clean as much as we can. So organic vegetables, naturally grown chicken, free range eggs, wild game for the most part. With working out. I have lost 20 lbs and she has done like 30 since last November. She works out almost every day where I do not very much..... but I definitely notice feeling a heck of a lot less lethargic during the day eating better.

Me to, i need fatty foods in my life. If some of these good folks would do some push ups/sit ups and go for a run once in awhile, than they wouldn't need to watch what they ate so much. TRY WORKING OUT ONCE IN AWHILE!!

Dude I ran a few marathons in college and I used to say I had two workout routines. One on the pavement and the other in the all-you-can-eat chow hall. An hour and a half for four plates at dinner  :EAT:

Not all of us are so blessed I guess. I have to watch what I eat and work out otherwise I will gain weight slowly. Always been jealous of you turds who can just eat whatever the heck they want and never gain an ounce!  >:(

It cuts both ways, Levi. I had periods I didn't run very much and hit the weights 3 times a week and ate a ton of protein. Still  couldn't develop the beach bod. I think the physical trainers call it red muscle fiber as opposed to white muscle fiber. Some body types are just predisposed to one type or the other, IIRC.

Very true, but if you have a slower metabolism than you just push yourself to work harder than the rest. NO PAIN-NO GAIN

It looks terrible, actually not bad though.  Probably would be a good treat for kids who likely wouldn't be able to notice a difference in taste between this and brownies.

On a positive note, with her "natural food" health kick and the paleo thing it is easy to get her to eat wild game.  When I met her she was a vegetarian.  I think she agrees that meat is a good part of your diet now, and its hard to argue with wild game from a health perspective.
