Thanks again for all the info. It will be a good experience for him regardless going and asking for permission in the off season. Since I wont have a rifle tag I am hoping some of the farmers will let him hunt.

Bummer this makes me wish I watched this forum more often I work out in the Marengo unit and could have given a hand from a Birdseye view at least. I did help a 15 year old connect with his first elk there last year. hope you and your boy had fun.
