Where do you carry your rangefinder?
« on: May 15, 2015, 09:01:06 AM »
To those rifle hunters out there... Where do you find it most convenient to carry your rangefinder?

Connected to your binos? In a pocket? In your pack?

Anyone found a lanyard system that works well?

I'm right handed.....so rifle goes on right shoulder, range finder goes in its little pouch just back of my left hip...I can reach back, take it out, range the stump that looks like a critter for the 5th time, and put it back and secure it one handed.

Well I'm not a specific rifle hunter but I carry it with the neck loop around my neck and then the rangefinder in my chest pocket.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Right waistband pocket on my Badlands 2200.  Reach back, unzip, bring to eye, range.  A bit tricky to put back and zip, but that's ok.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I don't rifle elk hunt, but I do rifle deer. I keep it in the side pocket of my pack. I figure if it is far enough that I need it then I will be taking off my pack to use as a rest anyways. I do need to find a better place to keep my rangefinder for archery. I don't like it in my front pocket of my pants or connected to my binos. Maybe a hip holster type thing?

I carry my Leica around my neck with a short length of stretch nylon. I generally keep it covered in a small camera case. I've tried a few different ones.

I have the Alaska guide creations bino pack and my rangefinder fits in the front pocket of that perfect. Some people think the pack is a little large on the front but it doesn't bother me.

Fhf gear range finder case hooked to their Bino pouch harness..  I personally love this setup..  I thought it would be bulky and in the way but I truethfully forget it is even there..
