IEP Land
«
on:
January 05, 2009, 11:54:19 AM »
I was just curious as to, how many people on here hunt deer/elk on Inland Empire Paper land? I have hunted IEP land around Mt. Spokane for the past 4 years, so i am not looking to steal anybodies spot just curious as to who on the site hunts there. I have also scouted a bit at the Mica Peak property, and seems like there are a lot of people up there, along with Mt. Spokane too.
Thanks
Jesse

Hi Jesse,
I live in the Spokane area and have hunted on IEP land the past two years. I believe the IEP land located close to Spokane gets hit pretty hard by local hunters. I haven't had much luck finding a shooter. How about you?

I took my first deer off of IEP 4 years ago. But that was the only buck i saw up there. I always seem to see about 5 times as many people as i do animals but there's nothing we can do about that. Thanks for the reply.

I found a good spot on mt spokane I guess
Because I had never hunted around there until this year during the late season since I was living in spokane and I guess I did skip school alot and hunted it even more!! but after a couple of days of figuring it out....I saw deer everyday including missing one nice buck!!
saw many does.....collected a few sheds and reaally had a good time!! also rattled/grunted one in for the buddy during late archery but it was small enough that he didnt want to shoot it......I also saw tons of areas tore up by bucks...rublines all over the place... saw a little bit of elk sign but not much....

I use both Mica and Mt Spokane to do quick afternoon hunts. Never have seen many people when Im out. I like the fact I can be to one of my spots in 20 minutes when I leave the house, and there are good numbers of animals. Moose, elk deer, bear turkey, grouse, they are all there.

Yeah the one buck i shot up there we rattled in, but that was 3 years ago and have tried it every year since with no luck. We'll keep on trying though. Lots of buck sign but i am not sure how they will do over the winter with all the snow.
