Well, I was guessing 300lbs too, but after looking at his backside, I could go a little lighter for sure.  I base my vast knowledge on TV hunting shows though, and one dead two-year-old that barely broke a hundred pounds.

Whatever the case is on the weight issue, the real question is:  Now that you have him on your cam, what are you going to do about it????   :dunno:  :chuckle:

So I as on my way out from picking up my cams [and seeing very little on the cams] when I saw an area from the road that looked really open and sloping down...so I walked in, then saw the area pictured on those pics, which is 20 yards off the graveled path...

Nice wide open area, lots of green food, but no trails, no sign.

It was hot and I was feeling lazy, so I setup the cam just to see if I'd catch anything moving through.

Those pics are time stamped an hour after I deployed the cam...

Makes me wonder if he was smelling me there and came over to investigate.

Bears are funny.  I get them on cam from time to time, but never more than just one visit past the cam per each bear - at least that's the case over the last 4 -5 years.  I don't use bait, so I assume that means the bear's den is quite a ways away from the cam. (?)

I'd shoot your bear in a heartbeat! (come 1 August)

That bear is way bigger than 200lbs he's atleast 300 but more in the 350 range. I just shot a big spring bear and this bear is close to it and my cape with head in it was 92 lbs.

He is above average for sure. But hair plays a huge part of how big they appear and he appears to have great hair.. No hesitation on the trigger on that one.

Good bear, but not a 400 pounder.
