Finally Got it Done
« on: May 18, 2015, 08:03:00 AM »
No more 3:30am wakeups this season. Heard these birds gobbling on the roost this morning so moved in. they would gobble back everytime I called but they went away from me pretty slow so I figured I would go across the coulee and up the hilltop where they were at so i get almost to the top and call and this one gobbled and sounded like he was right on top of me so i got ready thinking he might come check me out but he didnt so I figured what the heck, cant hurt just tyring to pop over the top for a shot so I crawl about 3 yards and pop up and there not there, it was a little false lip so I hunker back down and go about 3 more yards and pop back up and this bird is 10 yards from me and the rest is history. Had a 9 inch beard and 3/4 inch spurs.
