Sometimes quality of life is worth the risk. Sorry about the loss.

I have to agree here,But at 95 Should have been comfort measures instead of surgery.Happens all the time Dr. doing hip surgery and such on late 80s early 90s People. They usually not always pass during or shortly after surgery.Very sorry for your loss and our loss of a great American.  :salute:

Medication has a limit. And what's left to try when they no longer work?

My grandfather before he passed was on hydrocodone every 4 hours.fentanyl patches. And had a hospice nurse give him a morphine shot 2x a day just to take the edge off the chest pains. And the doctors advised if they put him on anything else it would kill him faster then the cancer.

I agree. Surgery wouldn't have done my grandfather any good. However he had reached the limit of the pills.

Not good choices to be had sometimes. Do you live with pain every hour or be drugged up every hour? Sometimes you are willing to roll the dice in hopes of a little more quality life as opposed to being miserable the rest of your life.

Just for a heads up guys. He had his surgery 3-4 weeks ago. He was just admitted to the Hickey house a week ago, quit eating. That pic was just a couple months ago.

The majority of medical professionals do not agree with this  :yeah: sorry. It is Surgery that kills the elderly most of the time. This is exactly why there is such a debate over assisted suicide this state would rather drug you up to make you comfortable when they know you are going to pass in an expected time less than 6 months as i stated. There is a huge number of elderly that are in their late 80s early 90s that just cant wait till they get called.
