We are, but damn if we aren't persistent. We have killed 5. Two groups haven't heard a gobble all day today. I killed one yesterday evening, but I had hinted him for a couple of days before he let me shoot him out of pity. Any advice would be awesome.

Ha well if you've killed 5 I'd say you're doing about as good as anybody for this late in the season. I don't hunt the corner so I don't really have much info on where to try. I'm going to try and fill my second tag on Friday but I'll be in the klickitat area.

Most birds are pretty tight beaked right now, cover lots of ground to find the ones that will talk. There are a few out there that are gobbling good if you can find them.

How many guys you got in your group Michael? 5 turkeys in 3 days is a decent start, not knowing the area at all. 
We had a very early spring this year also, which is making it tougher this late in the season.

LOL,  if you're inquiring about hunting on the rez, then you are in the wrong area to fill tags in a hurry this time of year.

Sounds like you are doing fine to me too.. And just a reminder, gobbling is not always a good thing. Gobbling attracts hens, which are your enemy. And it also attracts other hunters. And just because you don't hear them doesn't mean they aren't there. I bet there are a lot of guys and gals on here, would be happy with 5 turkeys, (dead turkeys). I bet some of the folks on here havnt even seen 5 turkeys...

9 guys in our group three of the birds killed were jakes.  I have already put over 1k miles on the truck in the past 5 days and have seen 6 gobblers in the entire state. Three of those were in town. Never expected it to be this bad.

I didn't hunt this year, but my hunting buddies that  hunt the Colville area were not doing well either. Not sure if the bird numbers are down, or they are in different areas this year (or if it is a timing thing with the early spring) But where we always have found birds in the past, they were not around this year. One of the guys is a turkey killing machine and 7 days of hunting he hasn't bagged a bird.

Trkykilr, don't get discouraged. You've come too far to not be successful.
Although it sounds like you've done better in 3 days than most resident hunters.
Try higher elevations if you can find any, and shady spots where they will be hunkered down escaping the sun. They are out there, just tight lipped & pressured for over a month now.
