The land locked coho are biting fairly well on both sides of the dam. Fishing can be very good out of a boat.

My neighbor fished it a couple weeks ago with his kids and they did really well. They were fishing out of a boat.

I heard a rumor that the fishing bridge at the campground is closed for repairs or something so dont count on that being 0art of your plan. Fish should be biting good now.

Saw a few being caught on the hiway side. A bit ago. Some nice ones. Watched a couple big schools swim by. Seemed like most people were fishing pretty shallow.  I thought too shallow.

Went last Sunday, 3 limits of 15-20" fish no problem. Caught and released lots of fish. Dodgers, hoochies with shoepeg or shrimp it didnt matter. Friendly FYI, these are silvers not kokanee in Riffe lake. Good luck

I went on Tuesday and it was slow. There was a guy who said two fish total were caught since he'd been there in the am. We were fishing hwy 12 side from the dam. We caught nothing. Saw two take downs of our bobbers but that was it. I threw everything I had at the buggers and we were skunked. Fished for 4 hours.
Wishing I was fishing...or in Wyoming

it's been so long since I've done any freshwater fishing ghat I need to relearn all I've forgotten. Any tips for fishing Riffe. I will be using a newly aquired 16 foot Osprey with  an electric trolling motor hanging next to the Yamaha. What do I need for putting some fish in the frying pan from this lake?

My next goal will be fishing the Kalama and Columbia rivers later on this year.

Dodgers and hootchie. Sliding sinker or banana weight. Lake troll or gang trolls and wedding rings, shoepeg corn, salad shrimp, and some tuna or shrimp scent.

I'm going up sunday and check out the campgrounds and do some coho slaying.

I might head over during the week. Like Tuesday and Wednesday. I will give her my best 😆 Should I bring my down riggers or just use a slip sinker?  Also should I get the 2 pole endorsement?  I watched a you tube video a guy posted. I was hooked and must go land lock coho fishing.

Down riggers work great. Not sure, but don't think 2 pole endorsement is good up there.
Buddy of mine fished off downriggers a couple weeks ago. 60 feet deep. 2 poles were about all they had time to get in the water.

My dad fished it Monday. Trolled all day... Lots of bites but only came home with one decent fish.

Yes you can use 2 poles on Riffe if you have the endorsement.

If you are using Wedding Rings or Double Wammys make sure they are the gamakatsu hooks!
I replace all the stock hooks, and our catch rate sky rocketed.
Put a red Power bait nugget on the top hook and shoe peg corn with Power  Bait pink maggot on the trail hook.
Trolling with a one once banana sinker in front of the Double Wammy. The silvers congregate near the steep drop offs.
If you use a bucket to hold your fish, they will jump out on high speed runs, LOL

Seriously 👀

The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.
