bino harness
« on: May 22, 2015, 08:49:44 PM »
Ive been searching for the right bino pack. I've looked at the badlands, kuiu, fhf, and the Alaska guide creations.I'm really leaning towards the Alaska guide creations. Has anyone ever ran one of these? Or can recommend a good one. Thanks

Talk to BMcox86. I think he might have one of everything.

I sent him a message with a link to this. He'll chime in.

I have used the Alaska guide creations, Fhf and badlands bino harnesses. Out of all three I prefer the fhf but all three work well.

I've heard great things about the fhf,but I've also heard it's not 100% waterproof

Weather can definetly get in the sides but the lenses will still be protected. Fhf has a lower profile and the lid has a quick and silent release with shock cord compared to the Alaska guide creations is a bit bulkier due to the pocket in front and it has a plastic buckle to secure the lid which can create some noise when securing the lid.

I have had the kuiu harness for two seasons, for the most part I love the size, weight and ease of use.  But they do not keep out all the elements, I have pine needles and other stuff in the bottom of my case all the time.  It's not water proof either. fyi

I am in the market for bino harness cause the elastic cheapos drive me nuts.  They dont keep your.binos close to your chest.  Fhf or kuiu is what Im getting.

I have owned and used the bino bro from Oregon pack works, the kuiu, and the fhf.  All work but currently running the Fhf with integrated range finder pouch.  Not too worried about waterproof as they will be put away if it is raining that hard or that wet.

I have the Alaska guide creations one and the FHF one, the AGC one is big and bulky compared to the fhf one which is more stream lined. If you want to carry more than your binos then the agc is the way to go, if you want something small that won't get in the way the fhf one is the ticket, I have the rangefinder attachment also on my fhf.
With the agc one the binos are not attached to the case, with the fhf one they are but you can easily unclip them to use on a tripod.

AGC could use some better marketing for sure or even a website that functions!
