Idaho elk unit 44?
« on: May 31, 2015, 12:17:39 PM »
My buddy in Idaho convinced me to apply for unit 44 for elk this year. he does pretty good there and guided his girlfriend to a 300 inch 6 point last year on her first hunt ever. Just wondering if anyone on here has hunted this unit in the past and how it went.

No info on 44 but if we both draw we'll be close by each other.

Since 18 and 11 seem to be not as good anymore, I've been wondering what the top elk draw unit is now in Idaho? I know nothing about 44.

The archery tags were pretty slim pickings but probably cause of all the otc opportunity.  Only one unit w a decent amount of tags.  The rest are all 10-15 tags?

Southwest units are best.

I deer hunted Unit 44 last deer and can tell you some areas where we saw elk.  I can also direct you to a video of the hunt (including some elk) at:

PM me if you want specific info.
