Finally drew a Spring Bear tag. Had a lot of help from a couple of great buddies. Big thanks to those guys. Also, thanks to a couple people on this site. Part of research and development leading to a dead bear is reading posts here and gathering good info. I noticed there isn't a ton of information on spring bear hunting in this unit, so I thought I would post a quick rundown and hopefully help someone in the way I had been helped. Thanks again.
This is the first time we tried calling bears. We were pretty committed to making it work. These are the facts:
Called with a calf elk distress. It was our 7th setup. Bear came from downwind to 50yds.

There is no law against using cover scent to hide your human odor.  When I find elk or deer poo...or a scrape, I always make sure to rub it on my boots and on my pants.
