I believe it measures the sound wave coming off the bullet. I'm guessing it wouldn't work well at a ranger where others are shooting. Pretty cool though!!
It is on my list of must haves. I figured I'd wait a bit tho as its relatively new and I want to give them a chance to work bugs out before I buy
Very interesting idea, particularly if one wants to monitor velocities during a ladder test.That said, what does 100 yds. worth of data actually buy you for real world longer range shooting? You'll still have to validate your trajectory at much longer distances than this unit is capable of doing. I use a Magneto right now since it is very easy to use, extremely accurate and stows in a small package.
