Passed winter of 1975 at age 11,
hunted fall of 76 at age 12 (min for WI), harvested a spike buck (regressed something like 8 or 9 yo),
Remington 1100 20g slug

Sidenote:  bought the first round of drinks at a local bar since I had gotten the first deer opening morning, slo gin fizz was my drink.   :chuckle:

Hunter education I did in 1979, I think. If not it was 1980. First deer would have been in Montana in 1983.

Back in 1980. Killed my first deer in 1983 and have killed at least one deer a year(multiple states) since.   This might be the first year I don't hunt and break that streak.

Took Hunters Ed in junior high probably 1990.
First deer 5 x 5 whitetail in 2001.  Still my biggest deer.
The gun was borrowed from my now father in law a 30-06 autoloader.  Not sure of the brand.

Passed in 1995 at age 12 and shot my first whitetail, a nice little basket rack 4x4, on the late hunt outside Chewlelah. Still remember it like it was yesterday!
