« on: January 06, 2009, 09:15:42 PM »
took my pup and my fatherinlaw out for some deep snow chukar huntin' they're holding tight, but you will have to earn them. I could not get any fiel pics as my camera froze up. not too shabby for a few hours. we gave up on pheasants. we needed snow shoes...lol

Cali's mom after the hunt

 On point!

Chukars are loosing their body fat.  We need a good melt so they can get at the green cheet grass.  Lee

one more...Lee

She was in the bottom of this gully for about 5 minutes before I found her, then I tried to slip down the gully and realized that taking a picture was better than trying for the shot.  She held until they (the two chukars) left post haste.

not too sure where you were, but it was waaaaay cold where I was. the birds we took held nicely and I was able to pull off two doubles. I am super bummed my camera would not work in the field.....I had some awesome shots of my dog and my pard as well as some super scenery. cali's face looked just like that, the little dog never gets cold nor runs out of gas......except for our trip down to wilbur this weekend......that was tough. sadly this is prolly the end of our chukar hunting this year unless something big happens in the way of weather.

the best part of the trip.........NO CACTUS SPINES!!!!

it is a browning BSS grade 2. seriously sweet shotgun. I only take it out in the snow as I have a field grade that I use now as my go 2 gun. the grade 2's are skyrocketing in value so I try to be nice to it...but, it kills like lightning.
