I was pulling for you stang, sorry to hear about the troubles. They're going to have to issue only rifle tags next year to thin the herd. that place looks to be at about carrying capacity.

Pretty cool hunt recap. Being able to picture where you were makes it that much better. Surprised you stayed up top in that weather, I'd have tucked tail and dropped down into the meat hole or just designated the Smith creek viewpoint as my glassing spot for the rest of the hunt. You boys are tough.

I don't think I've ever seen it rain and blow so hard.

Great story stang!  I sure wish the weather had cooperated for you guys though.  I was all packed and ready to be there with you after a cow, but I was still cutting/wrapping/freezing my moose.  After I was done, I was kind of burned out and figured I really didn't need any more meat.  I did still consider it especially with an offer from a member to help with the packing if I got one.  I hate eating that permit though.  Here's hoping you can find a bull during the late season.  You deserve one!

That was some tough weather to throw at a guy that had prepared so well.  At least you gave it your best effort.  Sorry you didn't get one.  Not sure if I had mentioned that when we messaged back and forth, but I had some torrential rain and wind days up there also.  Not 60 mph, but enough to make it suck while you're in it and question yourself for being there.  It was still a good hunt, with lifetime memories, just no kill of the bull you wanted, but that keeps you hungry for next time.  That place makes you appreciate the power of nature for different reasons...again and again.  Makes you appreciate a good solid roof over your head too!  Anyhow, thanks for sharing!  If you get a chance post some pics!  Good luck in the rest of your seasons.....

Mike
