Make sure your walking legs are in good shape.  Some steep country.  Hope for some rain as they will take off 200 yards in front of you.  If you can bring some heavy socks or those booties that go over your boots, it might help the stalk on the animal.  They were fairly skittish for some reason.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I bought a bigger pack so I can pack more stuff I probably won't need.

Go lite as possible, so you don't blow your legs in the first two days.   :twocents:

UGH, I can't wait.  I hope this rain doesn't change behavior too much.  Sounds like they're still bugling as of now.

I'm going to be like a hobbit on the fire filled slopes of mordor since we all seem to be on a Lord or the ring theme lately.

Didn't read all the replies. A buddy and I drew the archery cow tags a few years back. Have you scouted it? It is extremely steep, but doable. I was more into it than my buddy. Usually raining sideways, wind blowing sideways.  I could get up on them, even follow them 30, 40 yds back, just could get the shot. Usually nothing but butt, I didn't risk it. Yep, it is steep, just bale off the roads.
There are only so many sunrises left.
