Drew an Alkali Archery Bull tag Sept 1-24.  Any insite into this unit. Quality of animals? Will be doing research over the next few months, but any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Don't beat yourself up to bad if the tag goes unfilled.

Super tough hunt. I had the rifle tag last year and didn't see a bull during the season and I hunted about half the season. There are some great bulls out there. Do not pass on anything with horns. The north units have the most elk.

Put tires on your truck your going to need them if it rains and the rocks are sharp ass hell three flats in one day.. if you get stuck its when the army wants to pull you out. if they don't use it for target practice... :bash:

I would concentrate on the NW corner: training area 16. I saw elk in there several times last year.

Bullblaster my dad and another guy took 2 bulls from the same herd over fairly close to ryegrass a few years back on the muzzy hunt, both ended up scoring over 300. My dad said the biggest one was in the middle of the herd and didn't offer a shot. So to you and the OP there are bulls to be had out there. Oh and btw leave one for my grandpa please he drew the disabled any bull tag from oct 12th-31st

Bullblaster, PM coming your way.  I've got my fallen heroes 5k today but once I'm done with that and get everything cleaned up I will type out a few things.  I went out on the training center once :chuckle:
